I was excited to go to Prosperity Brewers on Saturday since it was Stout Saturday! I love porters and stouts. I was going to meet up with my friend and drink stouts all night, I had no plans on going anywhere this night other than the restroom and back to drinking stouts.
They had five variants available using their base stout.
I sat at the bar since my friends hadn’t arrived just yet and went down the line beginning with one, Vanilla Mornings which is Coffee and Vanilla. This one was definitely number one here this evening. It had great coffee and vanilla coming thru, I always say the more vanilla the better, this was delicious and on point!
I had come to Prosperity in the past for bottle shares. So it had been at least a month or two since I had come in to drink, Dominick was surprised to see me this day and it was touching to see that I appeared to be somewhat missed from the bottle shares/coming here. I appreciate the genuinely nice employees and owners here, they definitely make you feel welcomed and like you are part of the beer family. I was given a Prosperity Brewers shirt by Dom, which I am extremely grateful for! (Even more so since I ended up needing a shirt the following day.)
Josh, let me know they got some new brewing tanks in and if I wanted to check it out, of course! It was nice to get a look at the new equipment they have for things in the works, which I have to say, I am excited for them!
Once I came back around to sit back at the bar, I saw my friends had arrived, so we grabbed a table and hung out.
Next one available was, PB Cups, Peanut butter and Cocoa Nibs. Smells like peanut butter, I think the taste was a mellow, I could taste more of the base stout with some peanut butter. I think it needs some more. It was decent.
This evening’s food was brought to us by, Scooter Munchis, Chilean Empanadas. I wasn’t hungry at the time, though my friend Ana was and had ordered chicken empanandas, they did not have beef available as of yet, though they were shortly as someone was going to be bringing them. I absentmindedly forgot to take pictures of it, though my friend let me try one. It was four for $10.00, which was a good deal. They aren’t big, though the chicken and cheese was great and I think they were filled with the right amount of filing inside.
Onto number three, The Italian, Biscotti White Oak. I have to say when I tried this there was no doubt it was Biscotti alright, the flavors and smells came thru. I though it was a great beer, those who enjoy this type of flavor certainly missed out if they weren’t here.
What is also pretty cool about this brewery is, Tank! The American English Bulldog who is a staple here. There were a few times throughout the night he grabbed the big dog rope toy he had, wanting to play with patrons of the brewery, not everyone wanted to play with him, so I grabbed the rope and led him outside where it would be a little easier to actually play tug of war with him and fetch.
Number four, Toasty, Toasted Coconut. I think out of all the beers I tried, I was underwhelmed by this one. I expected more of toasted coconut taste which although minimal, I felt this one needed to be improved upon.
Number five, Double Churro, Cocoa Nibs and Cinnamon. OH MY GOD! After having the toasted coconut, I was elated to drink this one! I was sooo happy. This one does remind me of eating churros with cinnnamon sugar, reminds me of when I used to eat them as a kid. It was sweet, the cinnamon/brown sugar was off the charts for me, super enjoyable, great dessert beer. I almost wanted to see if I could find some Churros in Boca to compliment the beer!
My friends had left at different times as they had different things going on, I was grateful to my friend Ana, for letting me know I could stay at her place that night. It certainly beat the hell out of driving back to Miami. Much less driving back to Miami to come back up to the Palm Beach area, since on Sunday I had plans to go to Steam Horse Brewing.
While I stuck around, I finished off Double Churro, I went and sat at the bar. I happened to sit next to someone named Brandi, who happened to be there with her male friends. I don’t recall if she asked me which beers I liked or if I just happened to interject that, though none the less, she heeded my recommendations.
It was already pretty late in the night at this point, though I wanted to finish off my night with Vanilla Mornings, I didn’t want a full pour, so I had a half pour. My new bar friends mentioned that they were going to go to Crazy Uncle Mike’s from here and if I wanted to join them, I could do so.
I was a little hesitant. Go to sleep? Go drink more beer and go to a place I haven’t been to?
Yeah, trying beer won out. So I headed to Crazy Uncle Mike’s, I know they brew beer and I wanted to try at least one. So I sat at the outside bar and took a look at the beer menu. I opted to try, Don’t Be Salty which is a gose, and described as salty sour with real prickly pear added. I will say after having all the stouts it was a refreshing beer, I enjoyed the salty taste within, I’m not sure that the prickly pear flavor was noticeable to me.
After ordering, I joined Brandi and her friends at their table. They had asked if I had gone to Brew At The Zoo, I asked if they meant the one in Miami. They did not. They meant the one in West Palm Beach Zoo happening on April 6th. They mentioned they would be going and I should check it out.
After finishing off my beer, off I went not too far, thankful for good friends!
Now the contemplation to go on April 6 to Brew at the Zoo or not to, ensues!
